The Float shawl is a charming right - triangle shawl and the first in a series of innovative projects using the original Assigned Pooling concept by Dawn Barker of Barker Wool. Assigned Pooling means that changes in stitch and texture are matched to color changes in a skein of variegated yarn. For this shawl, a simple Stockinette Stitch on the main color forms a backdrop for the cluster stitch on the accent color, like little flowers floating on a river or in the wind. Each assigned pooling project is as unique as the yarn you pick! Let your creativity soar with the color changes in your variegated skein.

Using this shawl kit is a breeze. First, head to Dawn Barker's Ravelry page to get the pattern. You'll need US Size 4 (3.5 mm) needles, which aren't in the kit, and it's a good idea to have a tapestry needle and stitch markers. Start working on the shawl following the pattern, and watch as the colors and stitches come together like floating flowers. When you're done, block it to get the finished size of 70' wide and 45' deep. As for maintenance, hand - wash the shawl gently in cool water and lay it flat to dry to keep its shape and the beautiful colors of the Barker Wool Tosh Merino Light yarn looking great.
